Potato Curry

Hy there,
Today I am sharing a kerala style potato recipe,potato curry /Kizhangu curry known in Kerala.I am a potato lover so I like to have potatoes once in every week.Here is a super easy and tasty recipe of potatoes.I will make many varieties of potatoes .This is  one of them.This potatoes are cooked seperatly and added to the gravy..Flavour of all spices reminds my kerala..This curry is very easy to prepare and goes well with chappathis,idiyappam and also appam.



Ingredients we need:

  1. Potatoes-2 medium sized.
  2. Onion-2 numbers,Chopped.
  3. Tomato-1 medium sized,Chopped.
  4. Ginger and garlic-crushed,1 tablespoon.
  5. Green chillies-3 numbers.
  6. Curry leaves-1 spring.
  7. Turmeri powder-1/2 teaspoon.
  8. Red chilli powder-1 teaspoon.
  9. Coriander powder-2 tablespoon.
  10. Garam masala-1 teaspoon.
  11. Oil-as required.
  12. Salt-as required.
  13. Water-as needed.

Method of making:

  1. Wash ,peel potatoes,cube them and cook it with a pinch of salt and needed water.
  2. Keep this aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan (You need a deep bottomed pan).Add in ginger and garlic saute for 1 min.
  4. Add in onion,green chillies and curry leaves ,saute until onion gets translucent.Add in tomato into it.
  5. Again saute for 1 minute.Now add all spie powders one by one.
  6. Add in cooked potatoes along with its water.Boil this curry for 5 minutes in lower flame.

Serve this into a bowl.

  • Serve this with chappathis,porottas.
  • Serve it with appam,orotti,idiyappam.
