Sweet wheat balls | Kerala Tea Snack Recipe



Hi readers today I am sharing a sweet tea time snack recipe.It is nutritious snack which can be easy to make.It is common snack which is mostly seen in Kerala village tea shops.It is made with atta or wheat powder mix which ripe banana and jaggery. Let me share the recipe of undampori.

Ingredients for making sweet wheat balls:

  1. Wheat flour/Aatta -2 and half cups.
  2. Jaggery-melted-2 cups.
  3. Coconut pieces-(Thenga kothu)4 teaspoon.
  4. Cardamom powder-1/2 tea spoon.
  5. Baking soda-1/4 teaspoon.
  6. Banana-1 ripe big banana.
  7. Water-as required.
  8. Oil-For deep frying.

Method of making sweet wheat balls:

  1. Take a large bowl .Put wheat flour or atta,jaggery solution,cardamom powder and baking soda to it and mix well.
  2. Mash the ripe banana and add this to the wheat powder mix.
  3. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly.Knead them well.Add enough water to make it soft.
  4. Keep them covered for two to three hours to ferment.
  5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan.Make lemon sized balls with wheat balls by wetting your pan.
  6. Put them to hot oil and deep fry them until them brownish colour.
  7. Serve as hot with tea or coffee enjoy..!!
