Clams Meat pickle | Homemade kakkairachi achaar

Hello friends
Today I am gonna share a simple and delicious pickle recipe. Clams meat pickle.

 Let us get started.

Ingredients for this pickle are:

  1. Clams meat-1 Cup, cleaned.
  2. Sunflower oil/vegetable oil- As required for frying.
  3. Sesame/gingelly oil-2 Tablespoon.
  4. Mustard seeds-1/4 Teaspoon.
  5. Fenugreek seeds-1/4 Teaspoon.
  6. Ginger-2 Tablespoons, thinly sliced.
  7. Green chillies-3 numbers.
  8. Garlic-2 bulbs.
  9. Curry leaves- few.
  10. Turmeric powder-1/4 teaspoon.
  11. Kashmiri chilli powder-2 Tablespoons.
  12. Asafoetida-1/4 Teaspoon.
  13. White vinegar-1/2 Cup.
  14. Fenugreek powder-1/4 Teaspoon.
  15. Salt- as needed.

Method of preparation:

  1. Cook clams meat along with turmeric powder, salt and water.
  2. Fry the cooked clams meat in sunflower or vegetable oil till it becomes crispy and dry.
  3. You can also use uncooked clams by marinating them with turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt.then directly fry them in hot oil.
  4. Once the clams meat turns dry and crispy remove it from the oil and keep aside.
  5. Heat some gingelly oil/sesame oil in the same pan. Splutter mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds.
  6. Add ginger .garlic.gree chillies and curry leaves. Saute them until it changes colour.
  7. Add turmeric powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, asafoetida and mix well in low flame. Once the raw smell of powders goes add white vinegar and let it boil.
  8. Now add fenugreek powder(roasted) and salt to taste. Mix it well. Turn off the flame and add Fried clams meat and combine well.
  9. Pickle is now ready. Let it cool down completely then store in a clean airtight jar in the refrigerator.
  10. It is best after two days.
