Chicken Pakoda | Iftar special Chicken Pakora Recipe

Hi all Today I am here with a simple non-veg snack recipe. Chicken pakora is a tea time snack made with deep frying boneless chicken. These chicken pakoras are quick and easy to make.

Ingredients needed for this recipe:


  1. Chicken- 150 gm, Boneless chicken, Cut into strips or cubes..
  2. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Teaspoon.
  3. Red chilli powder-1/2 Teaspoon.
  4. Black Pepper Powder -1/2 Teaspoon.
  5. Garam Masala Powder -1/4 Teaspoon.
  6. Lime Juice -1 Teaspoon.
  7. Onion -1 Large onion thinly sliced.
  8. Ginger -1 Teaspoon, finely chopped.
  9. Garlic -1 Teaspoon, Finely chopped.
  10. Green chillies -1 green chilly finely chopped.
  11. Cilantro - 1/2 cup, Chopped.
  12. Gram Flour/ Besan-3/4 cup.
  13. Rice Flour-4 Tablespoons.
  14. Baking soda-1/4 Teaspoon.
  15. Water as required.
  16. Oil for frying.
  17. Salt to taste.
   

Method of preparation:


  1. In a bowl add chicken, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder. black pepper powder,garam masala powder, and lime juice. Mix it very well and keep it aside.
  2. Take another bowl add sliced onion, ginger, garlic, green chilies, chopped cilantro, and salt. Mix it thoroughly until onion release water. 
  3. Add Gram flour and rice flour. Mix it well. Add water little by little and make a thick batter.
  4. Add a pinch of baking soda and mix it well.
  5.  Add baking soda just before frying only. Heat enough oil for frying in a frying pan. Make small balls out of the mixture.
  6. Add the balls into hot oil and fry over a medium heat. Fry on a medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes.
  7. Fry till the pakoras become golden brown color. Once it is done remove from oil and drain the excess oil.
  8. Serve as hot with tomato ketchup.
