Payar mezhukkpuratti / Long beans stir fry


Two days ago I got some long beans from our neighbours kitchen garden.It is not like our kerala achinga payar,Its outer portion is little harder than them.I made this stir fry as the same way of making kerala mezhukku puratti.It is an easy recipe with few ingredients.
This is a simple side dish and can make it as regular basis.Along with your fish curry or any other curries..


Ingredients for making stir fry:

  1. Long beans-Washed and chopped.
  2. Onion-1 medium sized ,sliced.
  3. Green Chillies-3 to 4 slitted into two.
  4. Mustard seeds-1 teaspoon.
  5. Curry leaves- few
  6. Oil-2 ,3 tablespoon.
  7. Salt-1 teaspoon.

Method of making Stir fry:

  1. Heat oil in a pan.Add in mustard seeds and allow them to splutter.
  2. Add in sliced onions,green chillies,curry leaves.
  3. Saute them until the onion gets translucent.Add in chopped long beans into it.
  4. Add in salt Mix well.
  5. Cover it and cook.Saute it at regular intervals.Keep the flame low at this stage.
  6. Turn off the flame when it is completly cooked.

Serving suggestions:

  • Serve with plain rice.



Notes:

  • You can add chillipowder instead of adding green chillies.
  • Keep the flame at low when cooking this.

Wash and chop long beans..


Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds and add everything in the picture..


Add in chopped long beans..Cover it and cook.


Done....
