Mutton Curry | Basic mutton curry.

Simple and delicious that I know about Mutton curry.I make this mutton curry with my basic meat curry recipe..Mutton curry is delicious with ghee rice and also good with plain rice.If you thicken the gravy it tastes just as good with freshly made chappathis..
In this recipe I never used coconut.It is really a normal and basic style.Do try my recipes..

Ingredients we need for this mutton curry:

  1. Mutton/goat/lamp-1/2 kg meat cut,cleaned with bones.
  2. Onion-2 large,chopped.
  3. Garlic-Chopped,1 tbsp.
  4. Ginger-Chopped,1 tbsp.
  5. Green Chillies-3 to 4 slitted into two.
  6. Curry Leaves-few.
  7. Tomato-1 medium sized chopped.
  8. Turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon.
  9. Red chilli powder-1 tbsp.
  10. Coriander powder-2 tbsp.
  11. Garam Masala powder-1 tbsp.
  12. Black pepper powder-1 tsp.
  13. Salt-As required.
  14. Oil-2 tbsp
  15. Water -About 1.5 cup.

Method for preparing Mutton Curry:

  1. Heat a heavy bottomed pan in which mutton curry is making.
  2. Add 2 tbsp of oil in it.
  3. Add in chopped ginger and garlic into it.
  4. Saute for 3 minutes in lower flame.
  5. Add in chopped onions into it.Now add salt into it.It helps to cook  onions easily.Turn the flame to medium.
  6. Add in green chillies and curry leaves.And add tomato.When tomato becomes mashy.
  7. Add in all spice powders in the same order.Remember the flame should be in lower when adding spice powders.
  8. Add in one and a half of water.Adjust the salt.
  9. Add in chopped mutton pieces into this gravy.
  10. Cook until mutton is done.

Serve it to a bowl...Tasty mutton curry is ready..Serve with rice,porotta,chappathis or kubboos.
