Do try this kerala chutney..Have it with dosa..Cheers..!
Ingredients that we need:
- Coconut-Grated 1 cup
- Green Chillies-3 no.s
- Shallots-3 no.s(For grinding)
- Shallots-Finely chopped.
- Ginger-1/2" piece
- Curry leaves-few
- Mustard seeds-1/2 teaspoon.
- Dried Red chillies-2 to 3 numbers.
- Salt-As required
- Oil-2 tbsp
- Water-About 1 cup.
Method of prepration:
- Grind the coconut with green chillies,shallots,ginger to a smooth paste.
- You can add a little water for grinding.
- Then pour this coconut paste to a deep bottomed pan.Heat it.Do not boil it.Keep stirring at a regular intervals.Do not allow it to boil.At the stage of starting boiling turn of the flame.
- Heat oil in another pan (You can use a small pan).Add in mustard seeds.Allow it to splutter.
- Now add chopped shallots into it.When it comes golden brown add in curry leaves and dried red chillies.
- Turn off the flame and add this to the coconut chutney..
Serve with dosa or idli.If you need the authenthic kerala taste add coconut oil instead if vegetable oil.
