Chana dal curry | parippu curry

Chana dal/Lentil curry-Parippu curry:-

Yes it is the most simplest way of making dal curry..If you have a pressure cooker you can easily make this curry in just 20 minutes.This is a bachelor recipe and it goes well with chappathi,kubboos and also for rice.


Ingredients for dal curry:

  1. Dal-1 1/2 cups.
  2. Onion-1 big ,sliced
  3. Green chillies-3 slit into two.
  4. Curry leaves-1 sprig
  5. Mustard seeds-1/4 teaspoon.
  6. Turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon.
  7. Chilli powder-1 teaspoon.
  8. Salt-to taste

Method of preparation:

  1. Soak dal for 2 hours.Take your pressure cooker or pan which is going to use for making curry.
  2. Put soaked dal,sliced onion,slitted green chillies,turmeric and redchilli powder to it.
  3. Turn on the flame and place the pressure cooker.Add in salt and cook them.(In pressure cooker it takes 3 whistles)
  4. When it is completely cooked,heat an another pan.
  5. Add 2 tablespoon of oil to it.Put  mustard seeds.Allow it to splutter.Add in curry leaves.Put this to dal curry.Mix it well and serve...

Enjoy with chappathi or cooked rice.
