Thenga aracha meen curry | Fish curry in coconut gravy recipe

Today I am posting very delicious curry recipe.Thenga aracha meen curry/fish curry in ground coconut recipe.This delicious curry can be serve with cooked plain rice.Let us get cooking..

Ingredients for fish curry in coconut gravy:
  1. Fish-cut and cleaned 500 gms.
  2. Shallots-5 no.s
  3. Grated coconut-1 cup.
  4. Cocum-2 pieces.
  5. Turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon.
  6. Red chilli powder-1/2 tablespoon.
  7. Curry leaves-2 sprigs.
  8. Tomato-1 chopped.
  9. fennel powder-1/4 teaspoon.
  10. Oil-2 teaspoon.
  11. Salt to taste.

  1. Clean and soak cocum in 1/2 cup of water for 10 minutes.
  2. Grind coconut with turmeric powder,red chilli powder,fennel powder,shallots and water. Grind them until it becomes smooth paste.
  3. Heat meen chatti or a heavy bottomed pan. Pour the ground coconut mixture.
  4. Add salt into it.
  5. Add in soaked cocum,curry leaves,chopped tomato and slitted green chillies.
  6. Cook in a medium flame.
  7. When it gets boiled, add in fish pieces. Turn flame to lower . Cook them by partially cover it with a lid. There is a chance to overflow coconut gravy when it is boiled just like milk.
  8. When the fish pieces completely cooked pour little oil and turn off the flame.

Serve it with hot cooked plain rice.. yummy..
