Squid Roast Recipe | Kanava roast

Hello dear readers... I know I have no too much readers but I am saying hai to you all.. Today I am sharing recipe of my favourite kanava/koonthal/squid roast recipe... Must try this recipe and share with your friends and family...

  1. Squid-cleaned and cut into small pieces- 500 gms
  2. Onion - 3 numbers.
  3. Green chilies- 4 numbers.
  4. Ginger- 1" piece
  5. Garlic- 4  cloves
  6. Curry leaves- 1 sprig
  7. Tomato chopped- 1 small
  8. Red chili powder- 1 to 1.5  tsp
  9. Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
  10. Coriander powder- 1 tsp
  11. Black pepper powder-1/2 tsp
  12. Garam masala powder-1/4 tsp
  13. Fennel powder-1/4 tsp
  14. Salt to tast
  15. Oil- as required.
Method of preparation:

  1. Wash and clean squid. Slice into small pieces
  2. Boil squid in a pan with 1/2 cup water for 15 minutes with turmeric powder or till cooked the water in the pan dries up.
  3. Heat oil in a seperate pan. Fry chopped onions till golden brown and add all other ingredients.
  4. Add chopped tomato and the curry leaves into it.Stir for a minute.
  5. Add the cooked squid and salt into the above mixture.
  6. Cover with a lid and cook on a low heat for 10 minutes. Serve hot with rice or chappathi.
