Irachi pathiri | Erachi pathiri | Meat stuffed fried Roti Recipe.
I know no introduction is needed.. Tasty and very popular malabar snack/appetizer. The first time I try this irachi pathiri and came out well. It was awesome.. Ingredients for Irachi pathiri filling:
- Chicken-boneless/chicken breast I used.
- Onion-2 numbers,chopped.
- Ginger and garlic-crushed-2 tablespoon.
- Green chillies-3 numbers,chopped.
- Turmeric powder-1 teaspoon.
- Garam masala powder-2 teaspoon.
- Coriander powder-1 teaspoon.
- Black pepper powder-1/2 teaspoon.
- Oil-2 tablespoon.
- Salt as required.
Ingredients for pathiri (Covering):
- All pupose flour/Maida-2 cups.
- Salt-1/2 teaspoon.
- Oil-2 tablespoon.
- Water-about 1 or 3/4 cup.
- Oil for deep frying.
Method of preparation:
Make filling:
- Cook chicken along with turmeric powder,salt and little water.Shred the chicken with a spoon and keep this aside.
- Heat an pan with oil in it. Add ginger, garlic and green chillies.. Saute for few seconds.
- Add in onion. Saute until it becomes translucent. Add salt into it.
- Add shredded chicken and spice powders. Combine well and saute for few seconds in a low flame.
- Filling is ready.
Make pathiri dough:
- Take a large bowl. Add flour,salt and oil. Add little water and mix well. Knead with your hand and make a smooth dough(like poori dough).
- Make equal sized small balls and roll it. We need 2 rotis(Pathiris) for one irachi pathiri.
- Take one roti and place 2 spoons of meat filling and place the other roti above it. Make a lock with roti by folding edges of the rotis.
- Do same for all irachi pathiris.
- Heat a pan with oil for frying. place each pathiris and fry them til gets a golden brown colour.
- Take the irachi pathiri from oil and place them to a paper towel to drain excess oil from it.
- Irachi pathiri/ meat stuffed chapathi is ready..
Serve as a tea time snack or iftar dish..
