Tandoori roti on stove top | tandoori roti make at home.

Tandoori roti is a famous Indian healthy bread made with wheat flour. Traditionally it is made in a tandoor or oven made with clay. But if you can make this at your home with the same taste of tandoori roti. Let us do it.. try this at your home and serve to your loved ones..

Tandoori roti is little thicker than normal roti/ chappathi. This is made with whole wheat flour,little all purpose flour,yoghurt,salt and enough water. Dough must be little smooth and once it is made allow them to rest for sometimes.This makes the roti more soft and tastier.
The purpose of sharing the recipe is to help you to make roti more easier and make at your home with out any clay oven.. Only you need your stove and pan..

Ingredients needed:
  1. Atta/Whole wheat flour : 1 and half cups.
  2. All purpose flour-Half cup.
  3. Baking Soda-1/4 teaspoon.
  4. Yoghurt / Curd -4 tablespoons.
  5. Water as required.
  6. Salt as needed.
  7. Oil- 1 and half tablespoon.
Method of preparation:
  1. Take a large mixing bowl and put all the ingredients exept water.
  2. Mix them thoroughly.Then add water little by little and knead well to make a smooth dough.
  3. Keep this for half an hour.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions and make balls with it.
  5. Dust little flour and roll it into a slightly thick circle.

  6. Brush little water to one side of the roti. Heat a tawa and place the wet side of the roti to the tawa/pan.Do not use a nonstick pan.
  7. Increase the flame and keep it for few seconds to stick it on the tawa. 
  8. With the highest flame turn the tawa upside down.. cook the above side in direct flame. bubbles will came as like you seen in the tandoor roti. When it is completly cooked remove from the flame and remove from the tawa/pan.
  9. Do the same with rest of the dough..
