Amrutham Podi Laddu | Health Mix Laddu

Hey there here is a simple recipe for laddu with health mix powder available in Kerala., Amrutham podi.The Amrutham Podi/ Nutrimix Powder is a health supplement provided by Kudumbasree that is aimed to satisfy the nutritional requirements of the children of Kerala(India) between the ages of six months and three years. It operates under the Take Home Ration Strategy which is a feeding programme through Anganwadis, and the Nutrimix is distributed in the form of Take-Home-Ration.

Ingredients for making this ladoo are:

  1. Amrutham podi /health mix powder-1 cup.
  2. Cashews chopped-2 tablespoon.
  3. Almond chopped-2 Tablespoon.
  4. Jaggery-1/4 Cup, powdered.
  5. Cardamom powder-1/4 teaspoon.
  6. Water as needed.
  7. Ghee as needed.

Method of preparation:

In a pan take amrutham podi and dry roast for  8 to 10 minutes. Once it turns aromatic and chage color slightly you can stop roasting.

Transfer the roasted powder to a bowl and Keep this aside.

Take jaggery along with 2 tablespoons water in a pan and mix well.
Allow melting jaggery.

Strain it through a strainer to remove any impurities
.Add the jaggery syrup to the powder.Mix it nicely.

Heat ghee in a pan. Add chopped almonds and cashews. Fry for a few seconds.Till it turns a golden colour.

Add this to powder mix.Ad d cardamom powder.
Mix it well.

Heat needed ghee and add the to mixture. If you are able to make laddus, you can stop 
adding ghee.( About 5 tbsps ghee )

Mix well and shape them into laddoos. Amrutham Podi Ladoo is now ready.


Dryroast amrutham podi.

roast till aromatic.

Transfer to a bowl.

Add jaggery.

Add water and melt the jaggery.

Strain and add it to the powder.

Heat ghee..

Add in chopped almonds.

Chopped cashews..

Fry until golden..

Add to the powder mix..

Add cardamom powder..

Mix well.

Heat ghee and add to the powder..

shape them into laddoos

Amrutham Podi Ladoo is now ready.
