Today I am sharing an iftar special drink, Rava Kaachiyath or thari kanji.Watch my youtube video here
Let us get started,
Ingredients needed for this recipe:
- Rava/Semolina - 2 Tablespoons.
- Ghee - 2 Tablespoons.
- Sugar- 4 Tablespoons or as required.
- Salt - A pinch.
- Milk - 2 Cups.
- Water -1 Cup.
- Cardamom powder- 1/4 teaspoon.
- Shallots -1 Tablespoon, finely chopped.
- Cashew nuts - 8 to 10 numbers.
- Raisins -10 to 15 numbers.
Method of preparation:
- Heat a pan add semolina and dry roast for few seconds. Keep it aside.
- Boil milk along with water in a saucepan. Add cardamom powder, sugar and a pinch of salt and mix well.
- Add roasted semolina and cook for 1 to 2 minutes in a medium flame until semolina is cooked.
- Heat a pan and add ghee. roast cashew nuts and raisins. Pour this over the prepared drink.
- Heat the same pan add little more ghee and add finely chopped shallots. Fry until golden brown. Pour this into the prepared drink.
- The drink should be in thin consistency. Serve warm.
