Matar Paneer Masala | Paneer Green peas Masala



Paneer green peas masala is a yummy and easy side dish for chappathis and rotis. I love the combination of paneer with green peas. This curry is very easy to prepare and it is a delicious dish.

Let me share the recipe..
Ingredients required for this recipe are :

  1. Paneer cubes-250 gms.
  2. Green peas-1 Cup cooked green peas with a little salt.
  3. Oil-2 tablespoons.
  4. Ginger and garlic Crushed -1 Tablespoon.
  5. Onions -2 onions chopped.
  6. Green chillies- 2 numbers, according to your taste.
  7. Turmeric powder-¼ Teaspoon.
  8. Coriander powder- 1 Teaspoon.
  9. Red chilli powder-½ Teaspoon.
  10. Cashew nuts- 10 Cashew nuts.
  11. Yoghurt- 2 Tablespoons.
  12. Ghee- 1 Tablespoon.
  13. Cumin seeds- ½ Teaspoon.
  14. Tomato puree- Puree of 1 Tomato.
  15. Garam masala powder- ½ Teaspoon.
  16. Coriander leaves- few for garnishing.
  17. Salt to taste.

Method of preparation :


  1. Heat a pan with two tablespoons of oil. Add crushed ginger and garlic. Saute them for few seconds.
  2. Add chopped onions and salt to taste.
  3. Saute them well until it turns soft and transparent.
  4. Add green chillies and saute well.
  5. Now add turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder. Saute this for few seconds or until the raw smell goes.
  6. Remove the masala from the flame. Allow this masala to cool. Transfer the masala to a blender jar.
  7. Add cashew nuts and yoghurt to this. Grind this to a smooth paste.
  8. Heat a pan with one tablespoon of ghee. Add cumin seeds and saute the cumin till they splutter.
  9. Add the ground paste along with a cup of water.
  10. To this add puree of a large ripe tomato.
  11. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Add cooked green peas and paneer cubes. Mix it well.
  12. Cover it and cook well for few minutes in a low flame. Garnish with few coriander leaves.

Serve as hot with chappathi or roti.
