Tandoori prawns recipe | How to make tandoori prawns?

This is the best recipe for making a delicious tandoori prawn without a tandoor...  with a smoky and buttery flavour... It can serve as a great side dish or an appetizer...

Ingredients for making tandoori prawns:

  1. Prawns - Cleaned & deveined,500 gms.
  2. Thick curd/ Hung curd -1/4 cup.
  3. Turmeric powder-1/4 Teaspoon.
  4. Garam masala powder-1/2 Teaspoon.
  5. Black pepper powder-1/4 Teaspoon.
  6. Ginger garlic paste-1/2 Tablespoon.
  7. Vinegar- 1 Tablespoon.
  8. Kasuri methi-1 Teaspoon.
  9. Kashmiri chilli powder-1 Tablespoon.
  10. Butter-2 Teaspoons and for greasing
  11. Salt to taste.

Method of preparation:
Take cleaned prawns in a bowl. Add curd, turmeric powder,garam masala powder, black pepper powder, ginger garlic paste, vinegar,kasuri methi and red chilli powder. Mix this well.
Keep the prawns marinated for at least 15 to 30 minutes.
First method:
Grease the oven pan with some butter and arrange the marinated prawns on the tray. Grill the prawns in the preheated oven for 220-degree Celcius for 10 to 12 minutes.
Second method:
Heat a grill pan or iron skillet or a non-stick pan which I used. Add a spoon of butter and fry the prawns until it turns golden brown. Turn off the flame once it is done.
To get a smoky flavour, Place a small bowl/ foil paper bowl inside the pan. burn a piece of charcoal.
Put the charcoal into that bowl. Add a teaspoon of butter and immediately close the pan with a lid so that all the smoke will remain inside.
