Hello, there I am here with another beautiful recipe.. Tutti-frutti. I love this tutti frutti since my childhood. but I don't know how to prepare and this is made with papaya...
Let us get started..
- Raw Papaya - 500 gms.
- Sugar-2 Cups.
- Vanilla essence-1/2 Teaspoon
- Red food color-1/4 teaspoon.
- Green food color-1/4 teaspoon.
- yellow food color-1/4 teaspoon.
- Water as required.
Method of preparation:
- Peel the skin of raw papaya and cut in half. Remove the seeds of the white skin beneath the seeds.
- Chop the papaya into small pieces.
- Boil 1-liter water in a vessel. Add chopped papaya and boil for 5 to 10 minutes. Half cooked papaya will turn semi-transparent. Drain off the water and set aside.
- Heat another pan and add 2 cups of sugar and half cup of water. Stir and dissolve the sugar completely.
- Add half cooked papaya and cook for another 20 to 30 minutes, stir in between.
- Remove from heat once the sugar turns sticky or one string consistency.
- Add vanilla essence and mix nicely.
- Divide the papaya pieces into three. Add colour to papaya in each bowl. I give a red, green and yellow colour.
- Soak the mixture for 12 hours to 1 day.
- After 12 hours drain off the excess sugar syrup and colour into a kitchen towel...
- Set this aside for at least 4 hours or till it drains off completely.
- Homemade tutti frutti is now ready... you can use in desserts cake etc..
- Store in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
