Today I am gonna share a simple and delicious pickle recipe. Clams meat pickle.
Let us get started.
Ingredients for this pickle are:
- Clams meat-1 Cup, cleaned.
- Sunflower oil/vegetable oil- As required for frying.
- Sesame/gingelly oil-2 Tablespoon.
- Mustard seeds-1/4 Teaspoon.
- Fenugreek seeds-1/4 Teaspoon.
- Ginger-2 Tablespoons, thinly sliced.
- Green chillies-3 numbers.
- Garlic-2 bulbs.
- Curry leaves- few.
- Turmeric powder-1/4 teaspoon.
- Kashmiri chilli powder-2 Tablespoons.
- Asafoetida-1/4 Teaspoon.
- White vinegar-1/2 Cup.
- Fenugreek powder-1/4 Teaspoon.
- Salt- as needed.
Method of preparation:
- Cook clams meat along with turmeric powder, salt and water.
- Fry the cooked clams meat in sunflower or vegetable oil till it becomes crispy and dry.
- You can also use uncooked clams by marinating them with turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt.then directly fry them in hot oil.
- Once the clams meat turns dry and crispy remove it from the oil and keep aside.
- Heat some gingelly oil/sesame oil in the same pan. Splutter mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds.
- Add ginger .garlic.gree chillies and curry leaves. Saute them until it changes colour.
- Add turmeric powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, asafoetida and mix well in low flame. Once the raw smell of powders goes add white vinegar and let it boil.
- Now add fenugreek powder(roasted) and salt to taste. Mix it well. Turn off the flame and add Fried clams meat and combine well.
- Pickle is now ready. Let it cool down completely then store in a clean airtight jar in the refrigerator.
- It is best after two days.
