Egg biriyani | One Pot Egg Biriyani | Easy Pressure cooker egg biriyani


Egg Biryani is a must-try recipe for all egg lovers as it promises to take your love for eggs to another level altogether. Egg Biryani is a wholesome one-pot meal that will satisfy both your hunger and your taste buds. Also known as Anda Biryani in India, this dish is made by cooking together fragrant long grain basmati rice, spiced hard-boiled eggs, perfectly caramelized onions and select aromatic spices, delighting your senses in every bite.

Ingredients required in this recipe :
  • Boiled eggs- 3 or 4 numbers
  • Basmati Rice - 2 Cups, washed and drained.
For garnishing :
  • Oil-2 Tablespoons
  • Onion- 1 onion, thinly sliced.
  • Cashew nuts-10-12 numbers.
  • Raisins-12-15 numbers.
  • Coriander leaves and mint leaves few.
For Masala:
  • Turmeric powder-1/4 teaspoon.
  • Red chilli powder-1/2 Teaspoon.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Ghee- 1 tablespoon.
  • Fennel seeds-1/2 teaspoon.
  • Bay leaf- 1 number.
  • Cloves- 5 numbers.
  • Cardamom- 3 numbers.
  • Cinnamon stick - 1-inch piece.
  • Ginger and garlic- 1 teaspoon, crushed.
  • Onion-2 onion sliced.
  • Green chillies- 2 numbers or according to your spice level.
  • Curry leaves -Few
  • Turmeric powder-1/4 teaspoon.
  • Red chilli powder-1 Teaspoon.
  • Garam Masala powder- 1 teaspoon.
  • Tomato - 1 large, chopped.
  • Yoghurt- 3 tablespoons.
  • Egg- 1 egg beaten.
  • Lemon juice- 1 tablespoon.
  • Water- 3 cups.
  • Salt to taste.

Method of preparation :
  1. Heat a pan and add oil. Fry thinly sliced onion until golden brown. Once it is done remove from the oil and set aside. In the same pan add cashew nuts and raisins. Fry until golden and set aside.
  2. In the same pan fry the egg along with some turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt for a few seconds. Set aside.
  3. Heat a large pressure cooker and add ghee. Once the ghee is heated add whole spices and saute them for few seconds. To this add onion, green chillies, curry leaves and salt. Saute the onion until translucent. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and saute until the raw smell of the spice powders goes.
  4. Add tomato and saute until the tomatoes are cooked. Add in coriander leaves and mint leaves and yoghurt.
  5. Add a beaten egg and mix well until the egg gets cooked.
  6. To this add washed and drained rice and water mix well. Adjust the salt and add lemon juice.
  7. Add a few fried onions to this and close the lid of pressure cooker.
  8. Cover the pressure cooker and cook for 20 minutes over a medium-low flame.
  9. After 20 minutes turn off the stove and wait until the pressure subsides completely.
  10. Mix well and garnish with fried onion, cashews and raisins.serve as hot along with fried egg and raita.
