Mango Panna Cotta Recipe | Italian Panna Cotta


Panna cotta is an Italian dessert of sweetened cream thickened with gelatin and molded-in small cups or silicon mold. The cream may be aromatized with coffee, vanilla, or other flavorings.
Today I am sharing a yummy mango-flavored panna cotta. I have shared coffee panna cotta recipe also on my youtube channel.

This mango panna cotta is in two layers. One layer is a simple Vanilla Pudding layer and the other is a Mango Pudding layer. The combination of these two flavors is amazing.

Ingredients required in this recipe are:
For the vanilla layer :
  • Gelatin- 1 packet, 10 gms.
  • Heavy cream or whipping cream- 1 and a half cups.
  • Sugar - 2  to 3 tablespoons or to taste.
  • Hot boiling water-1/2 cup
  • Vanilla essence- 1 1/2 teaspoon
For Mango Layer:
  • Mango puree- 1 and a half cup(Puree of 2 or 3 mangoes)
  • Gelatin- 1 packet, 10 gms.
  • Sugar - 2  to 3 tablespoons or to taste.
  • Hot boiling water-1/2 cup
  • Vanilla essence- 1 teaspoon.
Method of preparation:
Preparing Mango layer:
  1. In a small bowl take 10 gms of gelatin and add half a cup of boiled water. Mix well and keep this aside for 15 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan, add whipping cream and sugar. Mix that well and let it boil by continuously stirring.
  3. Add gelatin mixture and continue boiling for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat add in vanilla and stir well. Allow this to cool down.
  5. Strain and pour the mixture to 6 silicon molds (Fill half of the mold) If you are using small cups, place the serving glass at an angle. Strain and pour the cream mixture into the glasses.
  6. Cover the mold with a cling wrap and keep in the refrigerator for 2 hours or until set.

Preparing the mango layer :
  1. In a small bowl take 10 gms of gelatin and add half a cup of boiled water. Mix well and keep this aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Boil the mango puree with some sugar to taste. Add in gelatin mixture an slightly boil until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla essence and let cool down.
  4. Pour the mango mixture over the firm vanilla panna cotta. Fill the remaining portion of glasses in which we poured vanilla mixture.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours or until set.
  6. Unmold the panna cotta from the mols and serve immediately.
Top with some chopped mangoes and Mint leaves for garnishing.. Enjoy..
