Peri Peri Chicken | Homemade Peri Peri chicken on stove top

Peri peri grilled chicken is a mouthwatering dish for all spice and chicken lovers... This is an easy recipe with a homemade marinade.

Ingredients required in this recipe

To Marinate:

  1. Onion- 1 small, Chopped
  2. Garlic- 3 to 4 cloves
  3. Ginger - A small piece.
  4. Red Chillies- 4 to 5 numbers
  5. Bay leaf - 2 numbers
  6. Coriander Leaves- a handful.
  7. Black pepper Powder -1/2 Teaspoon.
  8. Oregano or Mixed Herbs - 1/2 Teapoon.
  9. Hot Paprika - 1 Teaspoon.
  10. Salt To Taste.
  11. Vinegar- 1 1/2 Tablespoons.
  12. Olive Oil - 2 Tablespoons.
  13. Lemon Juice - 1 Teaspoon.
  14. Chicken - 1 Kg ( Cleaned and make gashes)
Other Ingredients:
  1. Charcoal Piece to smoke
  2. Oil for frying.

Method of preparation:
  1. Add the ingredients under marination in a food processor jar and blend it for a few seconds.
  2. You can add or use Kashmiri chilli powder for a bright red colour.
  3. Apply this marinade to cleaned chicken with gashes. 
  4. For a smoky flavour, Burn a charcoal piece & place a small bowl inside the bowl in which the chicken is marinating.
  5. Pour a little oil onto it and cover immediately. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
  6. Keep this marinated chicken for at least 1 hour. 
  7. Heat a nonstick pan or grill pan with a little oil or butter. 
  8. Cook both sides of the chicken for 5 to 7 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.
  9. Stove to peri chicken is ready... Enjoy with parathas or butter naans.
