Ingredients:
For the Cake Batter:
2 large eggs
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
For the Cream Filling:
1/3 cup sweetened whipping cream(chilled)
2 Tbsp Chocolate Syrup
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Batter:
In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add vegetable oil and Vanilla Essence; mix well.
Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder. Gently fold until smooth.
2. Cook the Cake:
Heat a non-stick frying pan(24 cm) over low heat. Lightly grease with oil or butter and line it with butter paper.
Pour the batter evenly into the pan and spread it into a thin layer.
Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat for 8-10 minutes, or until the top is set and springs back when touched.
3. Cool and Roll:
Remove the cooked cake from the pan along with the parchment paper. Let it cool for a few minutes.
While still warm, carefully roll the cake (with the parchment paper) to form a log shape. Let it set in the rolled shape while you prepare the cream.
4. Make the Filling:
In a bowl, whip the chilled cream and chocolate syrup.
5. Assemble the Swiss Roll:
Gently unroll the cake and spread the whipped cream evenly over it.
Re-roll the cake (without the parchment paper) tightly.
6. Chill and Serve:
Wrap the roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours to set.
Slice and serve your delicious chocolate Swiss roll!
Enjoy your homemade frying pan dessert!
