Fish molly is a very famous dish from South India(Kerala),Molly is a preparation of fish which is stewed in coconut milk and very low spices and masalas are used. It makes the curry more tasty..

Ingredients for making fish molly:
For marination-
  1. Fish-1 kg,cleaned.
  2. Red chilli powder-1/2 teaspoon.
  3. Turmeric powder-1/4 teaspoon.
  4. Salt- as required.

For gravy-
  1. Onions-2 sliced.
  2. Ginger and garlic-Crushed(2 tablespoon)
  3. Curry leaves-1 sprig.
  4. Green chillies-2 numbers.
  5. Tomato 1 chopped.
  6. Turmeric powder-1/4 teaspoon.
  7. Coriander powder-3 teaspoon.
  8. Black pepper powder-1 teaspoon.
  9. Coconut milk-Thin-a cup.
  10. Coconut milk-Thick 1/2 cup.
  11. Salt to taste.
  12. Oil as required for frying and seasoning.

Method of preparation:
  1. Marinate fish with salt,red chilli powder and turmeric powder for 30 minutes.
  2. After 30 minutes heat oil in a pan and shallow fry fish pieces.Not cook too much partially cook them.Keep this aside.
  3. Heat oil in another pan. Add in crushed ginger and garlic.. Fry it for few seconds..
  4. Add in slitted green chillies and curry leaves.. Saute it..
  5. Then add sliced onions.. Add in salt to it.
  6. When onion becomes translucent add in turmeric powder to it.
  7. Add in coriander powder and black pepper powder if you need more spice. Saute well...
  8. Add in thin coconut milk.. Stir well. Allow it to boil..
  9. When it is boiled add tomatoes and shallow fried fish pieces.Cover it and cook for few minutes..
  10. At last add thick coconut milk and turn off the flame..

Fish molly is ready to serve.. Enjoy with cooked rice.. yummy..
